Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

What Is It?

The new play by Richard Zajdlic, one of the writers of hit TV drama This Life, directed by Mike Bradwell, about love turning sour when two thirtysomething ex-lovers wrangle over their old flat.

Who's In It?

Tony Curran, following on from a string of Mr Nasty roles, is menacing as ex-boyfriend Neil, while Raquel Cassidy is supremely self-composed as his former partner, Alex.

What They Say About It

"The twisty, soapy plot sets ups a series of increasingly contrived confrontations," David Benedict, The Independent.

"There must be something right with a play that sends you out at half- time wishing you could grab a main character and push him out of a window," Benedict Nightingale, The Times.

"You leave the evening feeling wrung out yet curiously elated by encountering such bracing talent," Charles Spencer, The Daily Telegraph.

"The strength of Dogs Barking lies in its cattiness, as one character winds up another," Robert Butler, The Independent on Sunday.
