Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.During December there are several huge tours taking place. Rod Stewart is doing a five-night stand at Earl's Court and tickets have gone for all but one of the shows.
Status Quo are the other veterans playing their back catalogue with a gig at Wembley Arena on 12 December. Further down the age scale are UB40, who undertake a national arena tour to promote their latest album, while Culture Club and the Human League go out together to bring back some early 1980s nostalgia. James, who formed in Manchester at the start of the 1980s, go on a tour with the Stereophonics providing some youthful support.
The excellent Manic Street Preachers (with Catatonia in tow), Massive Attack and M People bring some semblance of the modern to the touring jamboree. New Order, after their brilliant showing at Reading 98, bring the year to an end on New Year's Eve at the Alexandra Palace all-nighter. Tickets, where still available, can be obtained from any of the big ticket agencies.
The Corrs and Garbage go out in January followed by Robbie Williams the next month. Then the Beautiful South hit the arenas in April while Catatonia do some big shows in May.
June sees All Saints no doubt destroying that great Red Hot Chili Peppers song live, while Celine Dion hits Wembley Stadium, closely followed by those ultimate ageing rockers, the Rolling Stones.
