He penned a memorable adaptation of LP Hartley's novel, The Go-Between (10pm Sky Cinema). Beautifully realised by Joseph Losey, the film centres on the relationship between a farmer (Alan Bates) and an aristocratic young woman (Julie Christie). The affair is conducted through love letters ferried by a 12-year-old boy (Dominic Guard).
Director Pedro Almodovar (right) seems to enjoy whipping up audiences with outrageous action, and he certainly achieves this with Live Flesh (11.30pm Sky Premier), a provocative sex drama. Javier Bardem stars in this story about a young naif who seeks revenge on the cop who had him jailed, by seducing his frustrated wife.
