From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

On March 11, rock band the Foo Fighters, fronted by former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl, released a new video for the single "Rope" - the second take from the upcoming Wasting Light - on MTV.com.

Famed for their iconic videos, Foo Fighters have generated considerable buzz in anticipation of the new clip. The band shot the clip in VHS and Grohl, who recently took home the "Godlike Genius" prize at this year's Shockwaves NME Awards, directed the video himself.

"It's not important for us to make videos, but it's fun to make videos. I like making videos," Grohl said in an interview with MTV. "So, I don't know if bands have to make videos [these days], but I think it's cool. I've always liked making videos."

Wasting Light is their seventh full-length LP and is produced by Nirvana producer Butch Vig. The album is set to drop on April 11 in the UK and April 12 in the US. "Rope" released on March 1 and reached number one in the US.

After a series of leaked snippets from the album last month, fans got the first full taste on February 14 with another retro-style video for the track "White Limo," a three-and-a-half minute screamfest. The clip features the band riding around in a white limousine emblazoned with an "FF" logo.

Three of the Foo Fighters' previous six albums have won Grammy Awards for Best Rock Album, and all six have been nominated. Their last effort, 2008's Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace, won a Grammy Award and Brit Award for Best International Album, in addition to reaching number one in four countries.
