Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Run The Jewels released the first track off Run the Jewels 3 on Monday morning and it’s a banger titled, "Talk to Me.”

Today also marks the two-year anniversary of Killer Mike and El-P’s second album, RTJ2. The rap duo sat down with Beats 1 host Zane Lowe and said the record is nearly finished.

“We’re in the process of finishing it up right now,” El-P explained in the interview. “We’re trying our best to get this motherfucker out!”

Meanwhile, Killer Mike likened the album to the apocalypse and World War 3.

“This is a powerful one - we always knew that this would probably be the first one we were gonna drop,” he continued. “This one just felt right it opens it up. When people hear this, they’re gonna get a piece of the energy to come. We’re definitely not playing games.”
