Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Rudimental have taken over my column for the week! Check out their favourite new artist Anne Marie - Roisin

We met Anne Marie on the Annie Mac tour back in 2012 when she was singing for Magnetic Man.

We loved her voice and attitude and we needed a live singer so asked her to join us on the road. We got on so well and were so impressed with her we thought she'd be the perfect first signing for our label, Major Toms.

Over the past couple of years, she's developed her sound and live show into something really exciting and we can't wait for you to see it for yourselves!

She's one of the most honest and hardworking singers that we've ever met - and we've met a lot!

We love the video to her latest single 'Alarm' [premiering below]

Q&A with Anne Marie

What are you listening to at the moment?

Skepta, Beyonce, India Arie, Outkast

What are your plans for summer?

Loads of festivals, Wireless, V Festival, Secret Garden Party! And lots of writing.

What was the first gig you ever played, and what’s been the best so far?

First gig I played was a festival with Rudimental and I was so nervous I just stood still the whole time like a scared chicken haha!

The best one so far has probably been the main stage at Glastonbury with Rudimental. And of course all of my own shows!

Rudimental play Rhythm and Waves in Ibiza from 7-21 July - click here for more information
