Your support makes all the difference.Having won Oscars for The Social Network, Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross were the ideal choice to create the soundtrack for The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Save for the title-sequence transposition of Led Zep's "Immigrant Song", they've eschewed songs or musical motifs for suggestive atmospheres, using prepared piano, metallic percussion, industrial ambiences and an undertow of looming electronic pads to create a bricolage of wintry tones and edgy rhythms that percolate through the film, gently ratcheting up the tension. On tracks like "She Reminds Me of You" and "You're Here", the metallic tones are a form of sinister gamelan; elsewhere, it's the sense of space that grips one's attention, sometimes just flecks of sound, like snowflakes in darkness, create a sense of brooding unease.
