Rarely has a rock singer been as badly wrong as Johnny Borrell when, on his debut solo album, he informs the listener that "I am a masochist, you are a narcissist".
The truth is the exact reverse, but the Razorlight singer is not a man given to self-awareness. Wittering on about magazine-fodder exes, airport lounges and erotic fanmail over 11 saxophone-stained tracks of jaunty ragtime, white reggae and sub-Zevon folk-rock, he sounds utterly burnt out. Poor.
