Your support makes all the difference.Though titled Jukebox to reflect the supposed range of different styles involved, this third JLS album actually sounds more homogenised than last year's Outta This World, with a wearying proliferation of standard synth-stab dancefloor pulses rendering the bulk of these songs musically undistinguished.
But there are some pleasing moments here, especially the softer-centred tracks like "Innocence" and the outsider anthem "Shy of the Cool". The boys themselves are developing as vocalists, though: the layered "ohs" in various expressive and rhythmic combinations drives along the opener "She Makes Me Wanna". On the downside, even an atheist like me finds something distasteful in their rehashing a Christmas carol ("Do You Feel What I Feel?") to less spiritual ends.
