Album: Dean Martin, My Kind of Christmas (Universal / Hip-O)

You know there's something not quite right when you see a credit for Pro Tools on a Dean Martin record.

And yes, he does kick it large on "Winter Wonderland: The Swingin' Yuletide Mix". But like many crimbo classics, this one really is an evergreen: the only track new to the "2011 Edition" is a duet with a curiously impersonal-sounding Scarlett Johansson. Yet despite the cheesiness, original Capitol recordings, plus Deano's inimitable catch-in-the-voice, offer a quality seasonal vibe.
