The previous two albums from this North Carolina-based roots band boasted an excellent mix of traditional and contemporary songs but were stifled by an airless production which failed to capture their infectious live presence.
Buddy Miller has rectified this, giving more of a natural room ambience and substantial bass-end to these recordings. In other words, you can almost hear the chickens out in the yard and see the dust mites dancing in the sunlit air.
