Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. On September 21, Radiohead's Thom Yorke confirmed on BBC Radio 1 that the band will tour in 2012.
On Tuesday Radiohead announced two shows in New York. The band has so far only played one live show, a secret show at the UK's Glastonbury Festival, in support of its eighth studio album, The King Of Limbs.
In an interview with BBC Radio's Gilles Peterson, Yorke noted that Portishead's Clive Deamer, who joined the band at Glastonbury, would be part of the touring band.
Yorke also added that he is finishing work on a new album as part of Atoms for Peace, his side project with producer Nigel Godrich, Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea, Beck drummer Joey Waronker and percussionist Mauro Refosco.
The King of Limbs reached the top ten in album charts in 21 countries, including number three in the US and seventh in the UK. The band's 2007 In Rainbows reached number one on album charts in five countries, including the UK, the US, and France.
