Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Comprised of Anthony West and Josephine Vander Gucht, the band have a knack for fuelling anticipation in fans, then meeting expectations with dynamic production and some wonderful songwriting.
In 2015 they tested themselves by releasting a track for every month of the year on SoundCloud, before putting those 12 together into an album released in September and promoting it with their first ever live shows.
Featured on the record were the tracks "Drive" - your classic breakup song with the painful setting of that drive home after the deed has been done - and "Body Gold", the first track West and Gucht wrote and produced together when neither had any experience with electronic production.
The band have recorded an incredible session video for "Lose It", which was a Track of the Day on Radio 1, which we're premiering on The Independent [see above] have a watch/listen and let us know what you think.
The single 'Lose It' is out 25 March. The band are currently on a sold-out tour in the UK
