Nicki Minaj has denied claims by her ex-boyfriend that she stabbed him before he covered up the incident to prevent her being arrested.

The rapper’s former partner, Safaree Samuels, described the alleged domestic abuse incident in a series of Twitter posts on Tuesday.

Samuels, 37, claimed he had “almost died” in the supposed attack, but told police he had been trying to end his own life to avoid further repercussions for Minaj.

“Remember the night you cut me and I almost died the police and ambulance had to take me out the crib on a stretcher and I had to lie and tell them I was trying to kill myself so they wouldn't take you to jail,” he said.

“When things like that start happening more than once it's time to dip.

“And you know what I still don't have no hate for you cuz I'm happy in my own mind now.”

Minaj, 35, accused Samuels of lying about the incident in a tweet sent minutes later, claiming he had stolen money from her by using her credit card.

“U stole my card & told me you thought it was an account with ‘free money’ that I didn’t know about,” she said.

“On God. God will strike you down & more for lying. Ha! Stop saying u packed & left! On Jesus u came to my house CRYING BEGGING to go [with me] to Europe to the EMA’s. I said NO DUMMY.”

Minaj split from long-term boyfriend Samuels in 2014, with several tracks on her album The Pinkprint thought to have been inspired by the end of the relationship.

The rapper, who last week released her fourth album, Queen, went on to take aim at Samuels over his hair transplant, claiming she had paid for the procedure.

“I should’ve never paid for that gyatDamn hairline!!!!” she said: “It fell back out cuz God don’t like ugly!!!! You used me but God had other plans!!!!!”

Samuels responded: “No joke I made 30k today just by referring ppl to the doctor who did my hairline. Thank youuu all.”

Minaj is one of the best-selling music artists in the world and has the most Billboard 100 entries of any female musicians of any genre in history.
