XXXTentacion is back in jail facing new charges of alleged witness tampering, it has been reported.

The controversial US rapper has seen his charges almost double from a 2016 domestic violence case, bringing the total to 15. He is currently awaiting trial for aggravated battery of a pregnant woman, domestic battery by strangulation, and false imprisonment.

Just two months ago XXXTentaction, real name Jahseh Dwayne Onfroy and often referred to as 'X', reportedly signed a multi-million dollar record deal with Capitol Music Group's imprint Caroline, after his debut album 17 debuted at No.2 on the Billboard 200.

But the 19-year-old Florida MC's career so far has been blighted by disturbing allegations of domestic violence. In September this year, Pitchfork obtained and published excerpts from the 142-page deposition by his alleged victim, describing in graphic detail the alleged abuse she suffered in the weeks leading up to his arrest. Onfroy has repeatedly denied each claim.

The most recent charges come after a hearing on 15 December when the rapper and his attorneys submitted a document allegedly signed by the woman stating she no longer wants him charged.

Prosecutors claim Onfroy coerced the woman into not testifying against him, while Billboard reports law enforcement sources which say he made several recorded calls to her while behind bars, which led to the new charges.

According to TMZ, he has been charged with an additional eight charges relating to witness tampering. He has been sent to jail without bail.
