Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

i has teamed up with the UK's newest boutique event Festival No.6 to offer 15 lucky readers the chance to attend the festival with a guest.

Festival No.6 is a brand new premium festival set in the breathtaking Welsh fairytale village of Portmeirion. It boasts a setting like no other, surrounded by exotic woodland, between the peaks of Snowdonia and the estuary of the river Dwyryd.

The stylish festival will take place on the weekend of 14-16 September with a bespoke line-up headlined by New Order, Primal Scream and Spiritualized alongside a wealth of DJ performances including Francois K (Deep Space), Derrick Carter does disco, Erol Alkan, Mr Scruff, Andrew Weatherall and many more.

Festival No.6 is much so much more than a music festival, with a diverse range of arts and culture, from spoken word to film screenings to pop-up theatre to sound and light installations, curated by our friends at Caught by the River, Faber Social, Finders Keepers, Don't Tell Stories and Walk The Plank. There will be late night ghost walks, secret parties, zorbing across the estuary, torchlit processions, and much more.
