Your support makes all the difference.Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance" and Ke$ha's "TiK ToK" reigned last week as the top tracks on Last.fm, the internet radio station that lets users in more than 200 countries listen to tracks in the site's music library. Two more singles by Lady Gaga plus two by American rock band Kings of Leon were among other top listens during the week of March 1 through 7.
"Kids" by Brooklyn duo MGMT climbed into tenth place with nearly 24,000 individuals listening to the track throughout the week. That single was nominated for a 2010 Grammy for Best Pop Peromance by a Duo or Group With Vocals, and the band earned a second nod for Best New Artist. MGMT's second album, Congratulations, is due out April 13.
In addition to its top tracks, Last.fm also revealed its most hyped tracks of the week - those whose number of listeners grew at the highest rate. Coming in the top spot with 3,890% growth to 15,607 listeners is Joanna Newsom's "'81," from the folk singer/harpist's second album Have One On Me, which has been getting significant mainstream media coverage since its February release.
