The Wanted have announced that they will be reuniting as part of a charity concert following Tom Parker’s cancer diagnosis.

The British-Irish boy band performed together from 2009 to 2014, during which they released three albums and 12 UK top 20 singles.

On Wednesday (8 September), the band announced that they would be reuniting seven years after splitting and releasing a greatest hits album titled Most Wanted later this year.

They also revealed that they would be getting back together for a live performance as part of group member Parker’s gig at the Royal Albert Hall on 20 September. Tickets are available to buy here.

“​​Here we go!! We are MEGA excited to announce that we are BACK and will be releasing our Greatest Hits Album on November 12th!!” a tweet from the “Glad You Came” band read.

“We’ll also be performing LIVE at the @RoyalAlbertHall as part of @TomParker’s ‘Inside My Head’ concert. It’s been far too long... Let’s do this!

The concert will raise money for Stand Up To Cancer and The National Brain appeal, after Parker revealed last October that he had been diagnosed with a terminal brain tumour.

The singer shared his “complete shock” at the news, which came just weeks before his second child with wife Kelsey Hardwick was due to be born.

“There’s no easy way to say this but I’ve sadly been diagnosed with a brain tumour and I’m already undergoing treatment,” Parker wrote.

“We are all absolutely devastated but we are gonna fight this all the way.

“We don’t want your sadness, we just want love and positivity and together we will raise awareness of this terrible disease and look for all available treatment options.

Former One Direction star Liam Payne will also be performing at the event.
