Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

The Corrs are back - and ready to leave us feeling breathless for some Nineties nostalgia again.

The Irish family singers are to tour the UK following the release of their first major album in over a decade.

The announcement follows the group’s performance at BBC’s Live in Hyde Park on Sunday.

Andrea, Sharon, Caroline and Jim Corr confirmed the news of their return at Ronnie Scott’s jazz club in London.

The 2016 tour dates are:

19 January - Birmingham, Genting Arena

20 January - Cardiff, Motorpoint Arena

22 January - Liverpool, Echo Arena

23 January - The O2, London

24 January - Manchester, Arena

26 January - Glasgow, The SSE Hydro

28 January - 3 Arena, Dublin

29 January - Belfast’s SSE Arena

The Nineties group, who are best know for their songs “Runaway”, “What Can I Do” and “Breathless”, have been on hiatus since 2006 to spend more time with their families.

Sharon and Andrea have pursued solo careers, releasing their own albums.

The band will release White Light in November, their first album since 2004’s Borrowed Heaven.

The Corrs have sold over 30 million albums since their 1995 debut Forgiven Not Forgotten.

Tickets for The O2 show go on sale at 9am on on Monday 21 September.
