From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

The Coral have unveiled a wonderful video to accompany their fantastic new single "Eyes Like Pearls", which you can watch first via The Independent.

"Eyes Like Pearls" is the latest single from the band's upcoming album Move Through The Dawn, which is being released via Ignition Records on 10 August.

The animated video was directed, animated and produced by Neil McLean, and is described by Coral frontman James Skelly as "a cross between Button Moon and Short Circuit".

"It puts a whole new spin on the song," he adds. "We love it, Neil did a great job."

After a five-year hiatus, The Coral came back with their 2016 record Distance Inbetween, and are set to pick things up again with this upcoming release.

The band have cited Phil Spector's 70s albums with The Ramones and Dion as a key influence on Move Through The Dawn: music which brought "a big sound" whilst holding onto a sense of innocence.

They recently announced a UK headline tour for autumn 2018 and will also appear at festivals through the summer in celebration of the release of Move Through The Dawn.

Move Through The Dawn is released on 10 August via Ignition Records and is available to pre-order now.
