Taylor Swift has called Sophie Turner “the queen of the north” after she praised the singer’s latest song, which is rumoured to be about Joe Jonas.

On Wednesday (7 April), Swift dropped “Mr Perfectly Fine”, another previously unreleased song “from the vault” that will feature on her forthcoming rerecorded album Fearless (Taylor’s Version).

Fans quickly speculated that the song, which Swift originally wrote in 2008, focused on her break up from Jonas. The pair dated from July to October of that year, when the “Shake It Off” musician was writing the original Fearless album.

The new track was then shared on Instagram by Turner, who married Jonas in 2019. “It’s not NOT a bop,” the actor wrote.

Two hours later, Swift reshared Turner’s comment on her own Instagram Story, during which she made a nod to Turner’s Game of Thrones character Sansa Stark.

“Forever bending the knee for the [crown emoji] of the north,” Swift responded.

Releasing “Mr Perfectly Fine” on Wednesday, Swift tweeted: “Me in 2020: life is chill, writing songs based in fiction to avoid drama, feeling pretty grown up. My 2008 music from the vault, in a goblin voice: ‘REELEEEEEEASE MR PERFECTLY FIIIIIIINE.’”

Fearless (Taylor’s Version) is released on Friday 9 April.
