Your support makes all the difference.Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards says he wishes Taylor Swift's career well "while it lasts" - the second time he's taken a veiled shot at the pop star.
In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, he was asked about the Rolling Stones and the expiration date on his own career, but quickly digressed into pop territory.
“Good luck girl — wish her well while it lasts," he said of the Bad Blood singer, adding: “I’ve just been around too long to be picking the bones out of kids. It wouldn’t be fair of me and I’ve always been an opinionated bastard anyway. And I never did really like pop music ― even when I became pop music, I was listening to the blues and jazz and not interested in the hits.”
It's not the first time he's been mean about Swift in the media - a few years ago he gave his blunt verdict on the singer to GQ, sniping, "Taylor is a pretty girl … (but she’s just a) flavour of the month.”
In contrast, Swift has been nothing but complimentary about the Rolling Stones - and she gushed about the opportunity she got in 2013 to perform with them on stage in Chicago during their world tour.
She performed their classic As Tears Go By, and said afterwards, "The whole band, they’re so welcoming and wonderful and approachable and all the things you would hope your heroes would be."
Swift is currently riding the success of her sixth studio album Reputation, which reigned as the number one album for multiple weeks on the Billboard charts and sold 1.2m copies during release week.
Both Swift and The Rolling Stones are scheduled to go on tour this year; Tickets for the Stones went on sale on Friday, as Swift revealed Charli XCX and Camila Cabello as support acts her for performances.
