Taylor Swift shared a new concert film, City of Lover, which was filmed during her intimate performance at the L’Olympia Theatre in Paris last September.
The movie was premiered on ABC on 17 May as a one-hour concert special.
During the set, Swift performed a number of songs from her most recent album, Lover, which received critical praise and was one of the biggest albums of 2019.
The film is also being made available to stream on Hulu and Disney+, but Swift released live footage of a number of songs she played separately, including “The Archer”, “Cornelia Street”, “You Need to Calm Down”, and the title track.
She had previously shared live footage of her performance of “The Man” from Paris in February this year.
In The Independent’s review of Lover, Swift was praised for returning to a pop sound reminiscent of her hit album 1989, as well as being a “partial resurrection of the Swift of old: moony romance and earnest earworms abound”.
Swift recently cancelled all of her scheduled live shows for 2020, including her headline performances at festivals such as Glastonbury and NOS Alive.
“I’m so sad I won’t be able to see you guys in concert this year, but I know this is the right decision,” Swift tweeted.
“Please, please stay healthy and safe. I’ll see you on stage as soon as I can but right now what’s important is committing to this quarantine, for the sake of all of us.”
In the announcement, Swift confirmed that Brazil and US dates would be rescheduled for 2021, with tickets for this year’s shows being transferred to the new dates automatically.
The statement also noted that customers could request refunds if necessary.
