Nicks talked about Styles in front of reporters on Friday after being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. The singer, who was already a member of the hall through Fleetwood Mac, became the first woman to receive the honour twice.
Styles introduced Nicks during the event and was photographed kneeling in front of the singer onstage.
Nicks praised the 25-year-old Styles while speaking to the press, commanding him for building a solo career in addition to his work as a member of One Direction.
“What I really loved about Harry was that when he decided to make a solo record from NSYNC,” she said, before catching herself and adding: “Sorry, not NSYNC.”
“Sorry. I’m never going to live that one down, I know,” she said.
“One Direction. Well, I liked One Direction too, so...”
She then praised Styles for “taking a risk” with his eponymous debut solo record, which he released in 2017.
Nicks said that when she saw him perform live, she thought: “This beautiful child should have been born in 1948 too, because he just fits in with all of us.”
While introducing Nicks to the stage during the ceremony at Brooklyn’s Barclays Centre, Styles told the crowd: “She’s so wise and serene. She sees all the romance and drama in the world and she celebrates it.”
Nicks kicked off the night with a performance of some of her biggest hits, such as “Stand Back” and “Edge of Seventeen”.
Styles filled in for the late Tom Petty to perform “Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around”.
