From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Spotify has revealed the biggest tracks, albums and artists on the streaming service over the past decade, with Drake emerging as the most-streamed artist of the 2010s.

The hip-hop star achieved more than 28 billion streams. Rounding out the top five most-streamed artists are Ed Sheeran, Post Malone, Ariana Grande and Eminem.

Despite the fact her last album was released in 2016, Rihanna emerged as the second most-streamed female artist of the decade, with Ariana Grande topping the list. Taylor Swift came in at number three, followed by Sia and Beyonce.

Somewhat unsurprisingly, the most-streamed track of the year was Ed Sheeran’s mega-hit “Shape of You”, with more than 2 billion streams. This was followed by Drake’s “One Dance” featuring Kyla and WizKid, Post Malone’s “Rockstar”, “Closer” by The Chainsmokers featuring Halsey, and Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud”.
