Snoop Dogg has revealed he played a prank on his Beach Bum co-star Matthew McConaughey where he swapped his prop weed for "Snoop weed", causing the actor to black out and "rap for 13 hours straight".

Appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the pair discussed making the film and made it clear they had a lot of fun while on set.

The incident apparently took place during their first day on set, where Snoop showed up to find a table of fake joints filled with oregano for the scene they were going to shoot.

"I'm like, who is that for, that's not for me!" Snoop joked, and McConaughey noted they were supposed to be for him.

When it came to shooting the scene, Snoop swapped the prop weed for his own and only told McConaughey after the scene was completed.

"I didn't say another word of English, really for the rest of the night," McConaughey said, turning to Snoop: "You said I rapped a lot."

"You rapped for 13 hours straight," Snoop replied.

McConaughey added that when he asked Snoop how the filming had gone the next day, Snoop replied: "Oh you was great, Moon Dogg, you hit four in the park home-runs."
