From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Sir Cliff Richard and Frankie Valli will headline a festival in the historic setting of Hampton Court Palace in June.

They will be joined by Lisa Stansfield, Imelda May, Jools Holland, Russell Watson and the Royal Philarmonic Orchestra.

Richard will sing in the open air court of King Henry VII for two nights, Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 June. He performed at another Royal dwelling, Buckingham palace, for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee last June.

Valli and the Four Seasons will return after performing to a sell-out crowd at the festival last year - their first performance in the UK for 20 years.

Classical Brit winner Watson will perform with his orchestra. " I'm thoroughly looking forward to performing alongside some truly great artists and musical talent," he said.

The festival will be "All Woman" singer Lisa Stansfield's only London date this year. She said: "After having such a great time last year in the UK with my three sold out shows, I'm so excited to be touring once again and I cannot wait to perform at Hampton Court Palace this June!"
