Rappers Saweetie and Quavo have spoken out separately after leaked CCTV footage showed them in an apparent altercation inside a lift.

In March, Saweetie announced that she had split from the Migos rapper, implying in a series of tweets that he had cheated on her. In response, Quavo posted: “I had love for you and disappointed you did all that. You are not the woman I thought you were.”

Last week, TMZ released video footage of an incident between the pair from 2020, in which they are seen in a physical altercation in and outside a lift in her apartment building in North Hollywood.

Responding to the video on Thursday (1 April), Saweetie told TMZ that the couple had been able to reconcile and “move past” the incident while still together.

“This unfortunate incident happened a year ago, while we have reconciled since then and moved past this particular disagreement, there were simply too many other hurdles to overcome in our relationship and we have both since moved on,” she told the publication.

In a separate statement, Quavo told TMZ: “We had an unfortunate situation almost a year ago that we both learned and moved on from. I haven’t physically abused Saweetie and have real gratitude for what we did share overall.”

Neither rapper is currently facing charges in relation to the incident.

The couple had been dating since September 2018.
