Your support makes all the difference.A 20 year-old London-based DJ has knocked mega-selling US singer/songwriter and producer Pharrell Williams from the top of the charts.
Route 94, who has gone straight in at number one on the Official Singles Chart with 'My Love' FT Jess Glynne, said: "I'm absolutely over the moon."
Route 94, who is planning a massive party to celebrate, told OfficialCharts.com: "I never thought 'I'm gonna write a massive Number 1' or a pop hit, or whatever, I just wrote it, and what happened just happened."
My Love features the voice of Jess Glynne who also appears on the track 'Rather Be', a former singles chart-topper which is now at number three.
Katy Perry's 'Dark Horse' holds firm at number four while BRIT Awards Critics' Choice winner Sam Smith is down three places to number five.
It has been a bitter sweet week for Williams who not only missed out on an Oscar with his feel good hit 'Happy', Williams's third UK million-selling single in less than 12 months, but also saw it knocked off the top of the singles chart by Route 94.
The good news is that Williams is still rocking the record books and has scored his first UK number one album success with his album GIRL.
It has become the fastest-selling artist album of 2014 so far, clocking up nearly 70,000 sales in the last seven days. Its sales easily beats Bruce Springsteen's High Hopes, which sold over 48,000 copies during its first week on sale back in January.
GIRL is a new entry at number one in the album chart ahead of Ellie Goulding who climbed a place to number two with Halcyon, while Bastille's Bad Blood is at number three. Swedish DJ and producer Avicii's True is at number four. The album called AM by the Arctic Monkeys completes the top five.
GIRL is one of seven new entries in the album top 40. US rapper Rick Ross is new in at number 11 today with his sixth solo album, Mastermind, while Tubular Bells star Mike Oldfield debuts one place behind him with his 25th album, Man On The Rocks at number 12.
The New York duo called A Great Big World enter at number 16 with Is There Anybody Out There?, Drive-By Truckers' English Oceans debuts at Number 34, We Are Scientists are new in at 36 with TV En Francais, and Rufus Wainright's new Best Of collection, Vibrate, enters at 39.
