The feud between neighbours Robbie Williams and Jimmy Page has reportedly gotten heated.

According to the Telegraph, a local resident wrote to the council claiming that Williams would blast out music by rivals to Page’s band, Led Zeppelin, including Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd and Deep Purple, whenever he saw him in his garden.

He also reportedly dressed as Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant, wearing a long wig and stuffing a pillow up his shirt.

“The committee may not have been aware that Robbie Williams has been playing loud 1970s rock music on outside speakers when he views Jimmy Page outside his home,” the local resident, known only as Johnny, wrote. “What’s been most annoying is that Mr Williams has played rock arch rival bands Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd and Deep Purple.”

“He obviously knows this upsets Mr Jimmy Page. There have also been some reports that Robbie Williams has dressed up to imitate iconic Led Zeppelin frontman and lead singer Robert Plant.”

Last month, Williams had plans to build an underground pool at his Grade II-listed home in west London conditionally approved, after a five-year planning battle with Page.

The musicians had been warring over Williams’ plans to develop his home, with the Led Zeppelin guitarist saying that he fears construction work could damage his own turreted, redbrick mansion, Tower House.

At a Kensington and Chelsea Council planning meeting in May of last year, Page, who bought the property in 1972, argued that the excavation work required to build the pool would be “catastrophic” for his Grade I-listed, Gothic-style home.

A spokesperson for Williams has said the claims were “a complete fabrication and nonsense.”
