Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Hip hop duo Rizzle Kicks have been added to the line-up of the Isle of Wight Festival along with 1980s favourites T'Pau.

Other acts also announced are Everything Everything, Bastille, Delilah, Damian Lazarus, Radio 1 DJ Zane Lowe, Tim Burgess and X Factor winners Little Mix.

Little Mix said: "We are so excited to be doing the Isle of Wight Festival this year. We've always wanted to go and now we get to go and perform, amazing."

Burgess, the frontman of The Charlatans, will be performing in the Cabaret Club at the festival on the Saturday and Sunday nights and also providing fairtrade food from his Tim Peaks Diner.

He said: "We're really looking forward to keeping festival-goers perky and topped up with Tim Peaks coffee.

"There'll be DJ sets, live performances and all sorts of grooviness and goodness going on."

John Giddings, the festival's promoter, said: "Now that the line-up is complete, I am really excited for this year's festival.

"We have something for everyone."

Other acts already announced include headliners The Stone Roses, The Killers and Bon Jovi as well as Paul Weller, Emeli Sande, Ke ha, Ben Howard, Jake Bugg, The Script, Bloc Party, Paloma Faith, The Maccabees, Ellie Goulding, FUN, Blondie and Devlin.

The event takes place at Seaclose Park, Newport, between June 13 and 16.
