Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

This year’s Record Store Day release schedule is as extensive as ever, with dozens of exclusive LPs, EPs and Singles being released on the special day.

Leading the schedule is a double re-release from the late great David Bowie, with two picture discs being released, including a 7” version of Station to Station single 'TVC15' and 1970's LP The Man Who Sold The World.

Other big releases come from Fleetwood Mac, who are releasing an ‘alternate’ version of Tusk, Bob Dylan, who is putting out four tracks from his upcoming album Fallen Angels, and a restored version of Jimi Hendrix’s Smash Hits.

Many more modern artists putting out material include Florence + the Machine, releasing the single Delilah backed by a cover of Neil Young’s ‘Only Love Can Break Your Heart’, Chvrches, releasing a remix EP, and Foals are putting out their cover of Mark Ronson’s Daffodils, backed by the previously unreleased ‘Rain’. Record Store Day 2016 takes place on the 16 April.
