Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello has reacted to the video of Trump fans dancing to "Killing in the Name".

A video filmed in Philadelphia shows a few Republicans playing the 1992 song that was written in protest of police brutality and institutional racism in America.

Despite this, Trump's supporters proved they didn’t understand the lyrics by singing along while waving flags with the phrase "Blue Lives Matter" written on them.

This terms is a reference to the US countermovement created in support of the country's law enforcement officers.

Morello, after seeing the clip on Twitter, responded: "Not exactly what we had in mind."

Many Rage Against the Machine fans have been frustratedly sharing the video on social media while highlighting the irony at play.

“This has to be the most hilarious self own in a looong loong time," one fan quipped.

Morello has made his views on Trump clear in the past.

During a performance with Prophets of Rage in 2017, he had the words "F*** Trump" taped onto the back of his guitar.

The result of the 2020 US presidential election is expected to be announced over the coming days. Joe Biden has overtaken Trump in numerous key states, which in turn prompted the latter to make several unfounded claims that the election was “rigged”.
