From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Having erased their internet presence, Radiohead began teasing fans by posting various clips of an animated production onto their social media pages.
It transpires that those clips are all from the video for their new song “Burn the Witch”, the video for which has finally hit the internet.
Just days before, flyers featuring the words ‘Burn The Witch’ were mysteriously posted to various fans, along with the phrase ‘Sing The Song of Sixpence That Goes’ - the latter features in the song's lyrics.
"Burn The Witch" will reportedly be released on all digital platforms 3 May.
Several month ago, the band registered a new company called Dawn Chorus, LLP, while their internet blackout occurring on the first Sunday of May, also known as International Dawn Chorus day, dedicated to the natural symphonies of early morning birds.
Many fans are assuming the record will hit the internet within the next few days, the general consensus that it will drop on Friday morning.
The follow-up to the King of Limbs follows the band's long-standing tradition of releasing albums via non-traditional methods. Famously, in 2007, the band started the company Xurbia Xendless Ltd to distribute In Rainbows, initially letting fans pay whatever they wanted for the release.
The band is also heading off on tour, kickstarting things on the 20 May with a show in Amsterdam, soon followed by three nights at London's Roundhouse and various festival dates.
