From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

R Kelly just can’t get enough of those Panties albums.

Although the singer is currently working on White Panties, his follow-up to last year’s Black Panties, he has revealed he is also recording a house music album.

“I’m working on a house album right night now and I want y’all to know it’s coming,” he told a crowd at Chicago’s 24th Annual Chosen Few Picnic Weekend.

“I love music and I feel like I can do anything when it comes to music because I am music, just like y’all,” he said.

The announcement of the new as yet unnamed album is the latest promise R Kelly has made about forthcoming material.

In December, he said he was putting together a “sexy” Christmas album entitled The 12 Nights of Christmas. “It’s going to be a lot of love-making,” he told Rap-Up.

He has also teased a country album, and said he has 57 unreleased chapters of his popular YouTube soap opera “Trapped in the Closet” in store.

Last month, R Kelly appeared in a leaked video for Lady Gaga’s single “Do What U Want”.

The scrapped video features the rapper playing Lady Gaga’s predatory doctor who puts her to sleep, telling her she will be pregnant when she wakes up.
