From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

The 40th anniversary of Queen's landmark album News of the World will be celebrated with a special box set to be released later this year.

Originally launched in October 1977, News of the World is one of Queen's biggest selling albums of all time.

Opening with two of their biggest hits - "We Will Rock You" (written by Brian May) and the iconic, Freddie Mercury-penned "We Are The Champions" - the band's sixth album went x4 platinum in the US, selling over six million copies around the world.

The Independent is premiering the trailer for the new release, watch below:

The new package, set for release on 17 November, includes the original album on CD, newly cut from the Bob Ludwig 2011 master, plus two other CDs of recently-unearthed out-takes and rarities from the Queen archives.

It also contains a pure analogue re-cut of the original vinyl LP, straight from the unmastered analogue master mix tapes, and a brand new one-hour documentary, Queen: The American Draem, which has been compiled from backstage footage taken during the band's '77 News of the World tour around the US.

British radio and TV presenter Bob Harris and his crew were granted unlimited access to the band on and off stage, in the recording studio and during rehearsals.

The announcement comes right after what would have been Freddie Mercury's 71st birthday, along with the first picture of actor Rami Malek starring as the legendary Queen frontman in a forthcoming biopic.

After years of delays, production on the film has finally begun, with Malek in the starring role.

It will chronicle the story of Queen from 1970, when Mercury teamed up with May and Roger Taylor, and close at the band's performance at Live Aid in 1985 - six years before Mercury died of complications from Aids.

Malek told Entertainment Weekly: "When you're able to open your eyes and see a different person staring back at you in the mirror, it's a very affirming moment."
