From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Prince's memoir is finally coming out in late 2018. The Purple One's memoir The Beautiful One was started when he was alive, but never completed.

Prince only submitted 50 pages of the memoir to his publisher before his death in 2016.

According to Variety, Prince had been working on his memoir alongside author Dan Piepenbring on the book, says publishing agent Esther Newburg.

Since Prince's death, work on the memoir has continued with Newburg thinking it will come out "just in time for holiday season."

Because the late musician was handwriting the pages of the book, reproductions of them may be featured as well.

Upon the book's initial announcement, The Beautiful One was described as “an unconventional and poetic journey through [Prince’s] life and creative work."

Newburg also revealed that the book deal happened in a way that had "never been done before."

"Editors don’t like to be in the same room making their pitches to the same potential clients," she explained. "We had to do it because I knew [Prince] would not want to meet individually with editors."

Last August, Beyoncé wrote the foreword for a Prince biography called Prince: A Private View.

It seems like Prince's memoir will hit shelves just before the new year.
