Paul McCartney photobombed a TikTok user who did not notice the Beatles legend walk past her until she later looked back at her pictures.

TikTok user Mae Archie revealed the chance passing in a Queen-soundtracked clip this week, which included an image her mother had taken of her on a visit to New York.

The picture is shown for a split-second at the end of the TikTok video, and McCartney can be seen walking past Archie.

She captioned the post: “Taking pictures in NYC and realising when I get home THE Paul McCartney photobombed me.”

Archie had been at the Metropolitan Museum of Art to see the rock music exhibition Play It Loud, and was “looking at the Beatles set and everything” just before the photo was taken.

Paul McCartney released his latest album, McCartney III, last month.

In a four-star review, Helen Brown praised the record’s “melodic charm, craftsmanship and open-minded optimism”.

“McCartney’s mood-hopping rattle bag of a third solo album sounds more like a descendant of The Beatles’ White Album than anything else,” she wrote.
