The Beatles frontman recorded McCartney III during lockdown, with the album due for release on 11 December.
It is the third in his trilogy of self-titled albums, following on from 1970’s McCartney and 1980’s McCartney II.
McCartney, 78, had previously said that he had no plans to release an album in 2020 but started fleshing out some existing musical sketches during lockdown.
He then added new songs to the stripped-back, self-produced solo work.
The album was recorded earlier this year in Sussex, with McCartney saying of the recording process: “I was living lockdown life on my farm with my family and I would go to my studio every day.
"I had to do a little bit of work on some film music and that turned into the opening track and then when it was done I thought, ‘What will I do next?’... It was about making music for yourself rather than making music that has to do a job.”
Last month, the singer opened up about reconnecting with fellow Beatle John Lennon before his death in 1980.
McCartney revealed that he was happy to have reunited with the late musician, and admitted that it would have “been a heartache” had they not done so.
McCartney III will be released on 11 December.
