Liam Gallagher has shared his opinions on his brother Noel’s decision to share a previously unreleased Oasis demo.

On Wednesday night, High Flying Birds frontman Noel allowed fans to listen to “Don’t Stop” for the first time, explaining that he’d discovered the song while looking through old boxes of CDs during lockdown.

However, Liam was less than impressed by the Oasis release, taking to Twitter early on Thursday morning to share his thoughts on the track.

Seemingly in response to the song, Liam tweeted a 196-letter long “Zzzzz”, which he followed by writing: “Well there’s something missing in this god almighty stew and it’s your brother your brother don’t forget your brother La as you were LG x.”

Three hours later, he addressed his estranged brother directly, tweeting: “Oi tofu boy if your gonna release old demos make sure im singing on it and boneheads playing guitar on it if not it’s not worth a w*** as you were LG x.”

Replying to fans on social media, Liam admitted that he was “well disappointed” not to have featured on the newly released track and branded the decision to release it a “PR stunt”, accusing his brother of “overdubbing” the old recording in a studio.

Noel had previously said that the song was recorded during an Oasis soundcheck in Hong Kong 15 years ago.

“I know some of you love this tune so we thought we’d put it out there for you to enjoy/argue over,” Noel wrote. “It’ll be up on the internet from midnight. The song is called ‘Don’t Stop’.”

“Hope everyone is staying safe and trying to ride out the lockdown with the minimum of fuss,” he added. “You’re welcome by the way.”
