From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. Nick Jonas was groped on stage during a concert by a fan standing behind the singer.

The moment, which was captured on camera by another fan, took place earlier this week during a Jonas Brothers Happiness Begins concert in Los Angeles, California.

In the video, which was shared on Twitter with the caption: “WTF. This is very disrespectful,” Jonas can be seen standing near the edge of the stage singing as a fan standing behind him repeatedly tries to run her hand up his leg.

Despite numerous efforts by both security guards and the singer himself to stop the fan, she continues attempting to touch Jonas.

The video ends after Jonas turns around to see who keeps touching him and it is not clear if the fan was removed after.

On social media, numerous people came to the singer’s defence after seeing the “disgusting” video.

“This probably ruined his whole night,” one person wrote. “It’s never okay to sexually assault someone, let alone in front of literally thousands of people??”

Another said: “Honestly repulsive and disturbing that this happened.”

Jonas has not commented publicly on the incident. However, he did thank his fans on Twitter for the sold-out concert.
