A video in which controversial pop star Miley Cyrus can be seen getting completely naked and gyrating on a giant wrecking ball has been watched more than 19 million times in the past 24 hours.

Cyrus’s new video for single “Wrecking Ball” delivered 19.3 million views across VEVO on the first day of its premiere setting a new record, and surpassing One Direction’s “Best Song Ever,” which hit 12.3 million views in its first 24 hours in July.

The child star, who gained fame as Disney's Hannah Montana, continues to shake off her clean-cut girl-next-door persona.
