Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Brooklyn-based indie duo MGMT is due to release its second album in North America on April 13, announced Columbia Records on February 9. The album is the follow-up to 2008's Oracular Spectacular, which went platinum in the UK and Australian charts and was named best album of 2008 by NME Magazine.

The tracklist for Congratulations, described as "a collection of nine individual musical tours de force sequenced to flow with sonic and thematic coherence," is as follows:
- "It's Working"
- "Song for Dan Treacy"
- "Someone's Missing"
- "Flash Delirium"
- "I Found a Whistle"
- "Siberian Breaks"
- "Brian Eno"
- "Lady Dada's Nightmare"
- "Congratulations"

MGMT has become a favorite act at international festivals, having appeared at South By Southwest, Coachella, Lollapalooza, and Bonnaroo in the US and Glastonbury in the UK. The band is so far confirmed to appear at the 2010 Coachella and Bamboozle festivals.

Congratulations will soon be available for pre-order on the band's website, where a timer is counting down the seconds to the album's release. International release dates are not yet announced.
