Your support makes all the difference.Mariah Carey was left baffled after This Morning’s Alison Hammond sang a made-up Christmas song to her on air.
The singer watched on in bemusement as the presenter closed her eyes and belted out the invented lyrics, and once Hammond had finished her performance Carey asked: “Are you mocking me?”
Hammond laughed nervously before protesting: “No!”
Explaining what happened to Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, Hammond later said: “I was nervous. I had the tune and everything before the interview, but it went out my head. I was like, ‘Oh my god that’s not sounding good.’”
Carey’s 1994 song “All I Want for Christmas Is You” celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. With global sales of over 16 million copies, the song remains Carey’s biggest international success and the 11th best selling single of all time.
Amazon Music has released a mini-documentary, Mariah Carey is Christmas: The Story of All I Want for Christmas Is You, which is available to stream now.
