From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Lovebox will breakout with Hackney quartet Rudimental, who will perform tracks from their upcoming sophomore LP.
Hip–hop icon Snoop Dogg will headline the second day of the festival and showcase retro funk songs from BUSH, his forthcoming Pharrell-produced album.
The eclectic line-up includes electro pop mavericks Hot Chip and “Uptown Funk” chart-topper Mark Ronson. Experimental composer Nils Frahm and Brixton pop star Jessie Ware are other featured acts. Aside from noteworthy headliners, Lovebox also makes room for up-in-coming performers like Dornik, Little Simz and Raury to take the stage.
Founded in 2002, Lovebox was kick-started by electronic dance duo Groove Armada—who returns to the festival this summer as performers. Last year’s festival sold out in advance with a record audience of 80,000.
Set at Victoria Park in Hackney, Lovebox Festival will take place from 17-18 July. Adult weekend tickets are £93.50.
