Your support makes all the difference.Lil Nas X appeared to confirm that he considers himself part of the LGBT+ community after pointing out several “clues’ in his music.
The “Old Town Road” star, who made a guest appearance at Glastonbury Festival during Miley Cyrus’s set on the Pyramid Stage, posted a string of tweets related to his sexuality on 30 June – the last day of Pride Month.
“Some of y'all already know, some of y'all don't care,” he singer tweeted.
“But before this month ends I want y'all to listen closely to c7osure.”
"C7osure (You Like)" is a song from X’s EP 7 that talks about needing to be “free”. It includes the lyrics: “This is what I gotta do, can't be regretting when I'm old.”
Elsewhere the track goes: “I know, I know, I know it don't feel like it's time / But I look back at this moment, I'll see that I'm fine / I know, I know, I know it don't feel like it's time / I set boundaries for myself, it's time to cross the line.”
X then posted a second tweet which focused on the artwork for the EP, zooming in on a part that shows rainbow colours on the side of a building. The rainbow is the symbol of gay pride.
"Thought I made it obvious," he tweeted.
A number of high-profile figures, along with X’s fans, responded to his posts with message of support and appreciation.
X’s Glastonbury appearance was his first time in another country, he revealed over the weekend.
