Recognising the public’s collective anxiety in a time of crisis, Gallagher tweeted that he wanted to finally put aside his and Noel’s shared grievances.
“Listen seriously a lot of people think I’m a c*** and I am a good looking c***,” Gallagher wrote. “But once this is put to bed we need to get Oasis back for one hell of [a] gig right!
“For charity c’mon Noel we can then go back to our amazing solo careers c’mon.”
Thinking further, Gallagher suggested that the hypothetical concert involve a number of other “miserable f***ing c***s who think [they’re] too cool for school” from rock band history, too.
“The Jam – c’mon Weller. The Smiths – c’mon Marr. Oasis – c’mon Noel.”
He then added a surprise potential guest: “Oh, and the Cheeky Girls – what a f***ing line up.”
An hour later, however, and with no response from his brother, Gallagher added: “What we saying we having it or what c’mon you know”.
Oasis co-founder and rhythm guitarist Paul “Bonehead” Arthurs at least seemed up for it, replying: “I am.”
The warring brothers have expressed conflicting information about a potential Oasis reunion for years.
In February, Noel denied Liam’s claims that he had turned down £100m to reunite the band.
“To whoever might be arsed: I am not aware of any offer from anybody for any amount of money to reform the legendary Mancunian rock’n’roll group Oasis,” Noel tweeted.
He added: “I am fully aware though that someone has a single to promote so that’s maybe where the confusion lies.”
