Lana Del Rey has been spotted working at a Waffle House in Alabama this week, not long after she posed with a fan at a Birmingham nail salon.

The US pop artist, 38, was filmed by a fan behind the counter of the Waffle House making coffee, while wearing a uniform and name tag.

In the clip, she appears to tell someone to be careful while filming inside the popular restaurant chain.

“Oh look at this guy! Oh god, Charlie don’t film him without his permission,” she can be heard saying.

An Alabama resident named Karina Cisneros Juarez shared the experience of meeting Del Rey on Facebook, local website AL.com reported, along with a selfie of the pair together.

“To say I am ecstatic is an understatement!!!” Juarez posted on her Facebook profile. “I have been a huuuge fan of Lana Del Rey for over a decade, so meeting her today was truly insane.”

Juarez also told AL.com that Del Rey was “wearing a uniform and everything”.

“It was a bit surreal. I just told her how much I loved her music and her work in general. She was super lovely, and incredibly nice.”

A Twitter user called @honeymounz also shared photos and video of Del Rey working behind the Waffle House counter, refilling a cup of coffee and serving a customer.

The reason why Del Rey took on the restaurant shift is unclear.

According to local news, Rey didn’t seem to be in Alabama working on music. Local recording venues FAME Studios and Muscle Shoals Sound told the website she hadn’t been in recently.

The Independent has contacted Del Rey’s representatives for comment.

Earlier this month, Del Rey performed a show at London’s Hyde Park. The Independent’s Ben Bryant gave the performance a five out of five-star review.

Last month, Del Rey’s Glastonbury set was cut short as she was 30 minutes late for her performance. The result ended in five or six of the singer’s best songs being culled, leading to disbelief and even tears among the crowd.
