Over the weekend, the Orlando Police Department (OPD) released a statement saying they had detained Michael Hunt at the Amway Centre in Florida.
Del Rey, real name Elizabeth Woolridge Grant, was performing in the city one the night of the arrest, police finding two tickets to the show and a knife on Hunt.
In a statement shared, the OPD said they "received a tip about a possible kidnapping threat" to the singer, adding: “The threats were reportedly made by Michael Hunt, 43, of Riverview, Florida.
“OPD Detectives considered the information a credible threat, and took investigative measures to locate Hunt.
"When he was taken into custody, Hunt was in possession of tickets to the Lana Del Rey performance and a knife. At no time was he able to make contact with Ms Grant.”
Meanwhile, Del Rey continues to tour her latest album Lust for Life, which featured on The Independent’s best albums of 2017 list.
