47-year-old Ms Porter, who was the former long-time girlfriend of Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, died unexpectedly in November 2018.
Following tests, the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner has determined Ms Porter died from lobar pneumonia.
Her death on 15 November was certified as natural, the statement added.
Following her death, Diddy released a statement saying he and his former partner were “more than soulmates”.
Ms Porter was the mother of three of Diddy’s children. She also had a son, actor-singer Quincy Brown, from a previous relationship with R&B singer Al B Sure!
Kim Porter and Diddy’s families said in a statement in November: “God broke the mould when he made Kim, there was truly no other woman like her.
“Although her time here on earth was far too short, she lived a life full of purpose and meaning.
“She was a loving mother and devoted friend. She was the epitome of kindness and grace.
“There wasn’t a person she met whose soul she did not touch. Kim was the type of woman who changed lives for the better.”
Paramedics arrived at Porter’s home in Toluca Lake on November 15 after calls saying she was unresponsive.
She was declared dead soon after they arrived.
